What Type of Traveler Are You?

Grand European Travel — which offers more than 300 guided vacations, escorted tours, and river cruises around the world — has a catchy quiz up on its website called “What Type of Traveler Are You?”

Just answer a few questions like “How Would You Spend Your Weekend?”, “What Does the Inside of Your Dream House Look Like?”, and “What Is the Perfect Travel Outfit?”  — with pictures to guide your way — and find out what type of guided tour might be right for you.

If you’re like me, you may want to take the quiz more than once because some questions have at least two choices (out of six) that seem appealing.

When I took the quiz the first time, I was deemed a “Nature Lover” (which I am) and directed to some “Top Experiences You’ll Love,” such as  a “Costa Rica Nature Tour,” “Scenic Scandinavia,” and “Tented Safari in  Style.”

I would definitely go on any of those.

You are then invited to further explore more tours in their nature collection.

When I took the quiz a second time, I was deemed a “Culinary Adventurer,” which is also accurate, and their top suggested tours included “Wonders of Italy” (with a wine making emphasis), “London Explorer” (which takes in food markets), and “Southern Grace” (Southern U.S. mixology).

All sound good to me, as do just about any of their other culinary tours, which range as wide as India and Brazil.

Beyond Europe

As you can see from the tours mentioned, Grand European Travel trips extend well beyond Europe, into North and South America, Asia, and Africa.

Part of the giant Travel Corporation, they draw from other Travel Corp. brands including Trafalgar (tours), Insight Vacations (premium tours), Costsaver (value tours), Uniworld (boutique river cruises), Luxury Gold (luxury tours), Lion World Travel (Southern Africa safaris and tours), and Brendan Vacations (Ireland).

They all have very good reputations, and I can personally vouch for the high quality of Insight Vacations, having taken one of their Central European tours a few years ago.

And, not incidentally, baby boomers are a big part of their market.
